Branding your Etsy shop Part Five: Blogging 1 of 3

Here we are with part five and we are talking about blogging. Perhaps one of the more influncial ways to brand your shop. This topic is too big for just one post so I will breat it up into the 3 parts. There are so many blog platforms that we dont have time to talk about all of them. One of the easiest to use for the new comer is Blogger.com, WordPress.com, Tunblr, Squido, Posterous and so many more. I found out recently that Blogger has added a lot of new features  so you have many choices as does WordPress and not so much with Tumblr. If you don't already have a blog on one or all of these platforms, I suggest you set one up right now...we will wait for you. Okay you are back, good. Now that you have a blog set up, write up a little bio about yourself, just like you did in Etsy. Once people find your blog they want to read about you. Making your first post. Don't sweat it or get anxious. Lets start with a few paragraphs about your shop, your art...your kids your day. Anything you want to write about and add a picture of you so everyone knows who they are reading.. Okay first post...DONE! Tomorrow's post. Post about a new item in your shop and link your photo to your Etsy shop and write a  sentance or two about the item. One of my pet peeves is a blog with nothing but listings, no text , just item after item from your Etsy shop. More on this topic tomorrow in the meatime if you are not a newbie this is a great post from the Social Media Examinner http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/how-to-grow-a-blog-community-with-social-media/

  1. Linda,
I am placing all the branding your shop articles in my list to catch up. I think I missed a lot of good information here. Thanks again Linda
