This is just a short post to mention a shop that is doing everything right to brand her Etsy shop and blog.

From Silver Magpies

You should check out her shop, blog, facebook the one and only Silver Magpies We know that Google changed the search algorithms which caused havoc in the Etsy world. Nan has followed the guidelines for relevancy first. Etsy has much information about the NEW way to tag and title your items. Her title and tags on this Silver Tea Pot are perfect. The photo is perfect with a little artistic flair with the nice draping in the background. So Nan has a great shop but Google search is only part of the process. If you look at your Etsy stats or Google Analytics, you can measure how the tags or keywords for each item listing fare. Does your item have more traffic from search or direct?  Last post I mentioned Hoolala and FatDog Beads as two that have been around Etsy a long time and have had to find new ways to adjust/ brand their shops. They paid attention to what brings traffic and sales to their shops.

Mine traffic for November

The yellow means that a large portion of my traffic to my Etsy shop comes from Convo's, BNR's and treasuries. There are many other shops that are doing it right, but like I mentioned before, once you get the traffic to your site they have to know what you are selling. Posting great photos and descriptions will help the buyer to stay on your page. After all they must have searched for something you have for sale. Good luck and next post we will get more into setting up blogs. best BL

  1. Linda,
Yep, got them all (your blog articles on branding your Etsy Shop) in my reading list so I can have them handy. So I can follow the leader…You!

  2. I don't have an etsy shop but I think branding is critical for any kind of online presence - for profit or not.

  3. Your post has reminded me I really need to learn to understand analytics and SEO keyword optimisation. I'm relatively new to this world and loving learning all about it.
