This week we feature my Etsy Bootcamp Buddy; Christa from Doohickiesnsuch. We met when we both signed up for the Etsy Holiday Bootcamp. She has been a great support and sounding board for me during this process. I love her jewelry, it is so girly but with a youthful energetic edge.I absolutely adore her motherhood bracelet. Her shop was recently featured in the Handmade Expo an online expo with Facebook. Please read more about Christa and visit her shop. Best BL
How did you get started with Etsy?
a friend of mine told me about this 'new' site that sells things handmade and well...I fell in love with Etsy once I saw it!
What inspires you?
hmmm...this is a hard question. I can't say it's a particular person. I think it's more of my surroundings (i.e. beads at a beadstore, clothing, commericals, etc). Some days I just don't have any mojo but when I do, I get inspiration from patterns and colors.
Where is your hometown?
New Port Richey, FL
What do you like about where you live now?
it definitely is the water. Looking out my back window and seeing the palms blowing on a windy, sunny day and the water!
How did you begin with your art?
It was a passion of mine to try and make something all on my own, without taking a class or picking up a book to teach me how. I actually got my first set of tools and a few different beads at Michael's and started playing with it. I wanted to make one of those "Motherhood Bracelets" and that's where I got the idea to make these and sell them. I thought every mom should have one! Once I made one I was hooked!
What do you do for fun?
If I'm not making jewelry, I like to watch movies and scrapbook. I have a scrapbook message board that I started about 3 years ago and like to chat with the ladies on there. I also like soccer. My oldest child is in soccer so part of the year is spent at the soccer fields. Oh...and when I get some 'me time' I like to go to the gym and do Zumba! You don't feel like you're exercising (and that's even better LOL).

How would you describe your experience with etsy?
I would say my experience with Etsy has been positive so far. I've made some Etsy-friends along the way and all the sellers/buyers I've had the opportunity to talk with have been very nice!
What advice would you give to a Etsy beginner?
Definitely find out what makes your product(s) unique from everyone else’s. Then find the right target audience for your product.
Are you on any Etsy teams?
No, I am not any Etsy team. I AM on a BNS list though. It's hard trying to manage my time with being on a team. But I'd love to find one that would want me! 🙂
Do you sell your products on other sites, or have blogs if so list the links here.
I do not sell on other sites, I tried but it was getting a little confusing. I do sell my items at a local hair salon though. As far as blogs, I do have one. I like to post things in my everyday life and from time to time I show some of my pieces that I make. Here is my blog: http://amooretto.blogspot.com
