Happy May Day to all, it seems like Pinterest is here to stay. In my post http://www.beckleecottagedesigns.com/etsy-3/branding-using-pinterest-get-on-the-train I cited some examples of people who are now using it for business, I had dabbled at bit in the application but I am using it now that I see proof of the effectiveness. My Google Analytics are a reflection of the building popularity. Pinterest is now number 2 behind twitter in direct traffic coming to my blog. I recently joined a LinkedIn pinterest group which has increased my followers and number of “pins”. You will now see large corporations with Pinterest boards so it is a true marketing platform, perhaps not right for all types of business but perfect for many.
A good example is Lowes Home Improvement store, they have a board on Pinterest as well as they drove traffic there during the Super Bowl. If you are not using Pinterest you may be loosing out. Traffic and trends move so quickly on the Internet you need to take advantage of the trends as they happen. Who knew 5 years ago when my kids encouraged me to join facebook that I would spend so much time using that platform for business and personal communication.
Another example of marketing on Pinterst is product loyalty. I did a search on Pinterest for Coke and Pepsi. This is consumer voices speaking loud and clear. It is essentially free advertising for your products as well
Here a few of the items that I pinned on my Flowers, Flowers and Flowers board on Pinterest
Don’t just take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
